The Journey of Healing literary anthology
Approximately 25 percent of women and 17 percent of men in the United States have been sexually abused by the time they reach their 18th birthdays. In some other countries, abuse statistics are far higher. For those who have been abused, and for their families and friends, the hard work of coping with such abuse-and the challenges of seeking a degree of healing from its trauma-brings life-long journeys that are packed with difficult lessons and a multitude of emotional scars well hidden beneath each person's exterior.
In response to this epidemic, which affects a significant personal toll on hundreds of thousands of people around the globe, Safer Society Press is releasing an international literary anthology of the writings of survivors of sexual abuse. The publication, The Journey of Healing: Wisdom from Survivors of Sexual Abuse: A Literary Anthology, contains poems, songs, fiction and non-fiction stories, and art from many locations around the world.
The Journey of Healing will be available from Safer Society in early spring 2010. Stay tuned to our web site for updates. If you would like to be notified via e-mail when the anthology is available, please fill out this form:
