New Circle Mentoring Receives a $5,200 Vermont Mentoring Grant from Mentor VT!

“MENTOR Vermont envisions a future in which every young person in Vermont has the supportive mentoring relationships they need to grow and develop into thriving, productive, and engaged adults. In order to achieve this goal, we have collaborated with our funding partners to create the Vermont Mentoring Grants. With funding support from the A.D. Henderson Foundation, the Vermont Department for Children and Families, and the Permanent Fund for Vermont’s Children, MENTOR Vermont strives to support, expand, and enhance the quality of existing mentoring programs, while also to helping to establish new youth-adult mentoring programs. We support this critical work by making grants and providing technical assistance, with the ultimate goal of sustainably increasing the quality and quantity of mentoring matches statewide.”

New Circle Mentoring is one of the initiatives of Safer Society Foundation. The Foundation’s mission is to provide services and resources for preventive and restorative responses to sexual and social violence. The goal of the mentoring program is to support mentees academically, psychologically, and emotionally so that they can overcome the obstacles on their paths to healthy adulthood. Mentors help mentees build social connections and support their learning and extracurricular activities, all of which encourage resilience and emotional competence in our mentees.

  1. To whom it may concern,

My name is Timothy Burgess. I am the Vermont State Leader for C.U.R.E. (https://curenational.org/). I am reaching out today, in order to see what assistance your organization is able to provide to mentor people charged with sexual offenses in VT communities. I am in the process of establishing groups that will mentor offenders, their loved ones, and support networks. The program will provide those interested in working through reentry matters. These groups will assist families and offenders in the process of having a safe place for resources and support.

I would like to discuss this process with a member of your staff.

    Thank you
