Note from the Director – November

The start of the school year and the change of seasons bring apples to my mind!

Mentoring matches once again had the opportunity to pick apples at Happy Valley Orchards. Apple picking is an activity that can be enjoyed at any age and we are thrilled that some of our long-term mentoring pairs are still enjoying this autumnal activity. The program is also pleased that our mentees are back to school with in-person learning. Our mentors played a vital role during the isolating times of the pandemic. Though now mentors help support mentees as they go back to the classroom. Additionally, the program is committed to maintaining communication with the school based clinicians in our mentees’ schools to help provide on going support. The clinicians are also a source for mentee recruitment into the New Circle Mentoring program.

This fall the program is seeking new mentor volunteers. Do you see yourself as a mentor; someone who will make a long-lasting impact on the life of a young person in Addison County? Visit our Become A Mentor Page to request more information!
