MENTOR National introduced a new resource written by experts for people who take on a mentoring role. Becoming a Better Mentor: Strategies to Be There for Young People is a good read and is available as a free PDF download.
The National Mentoring Partnership states that this resource is full of “real-world advice and evidence-based strategies” that provide mentors with strategies to:
- strengthen the mentoring relationship,
- teach mentee’s about important life skills and principles,
- and provide emotional support based on mentee experiences.

Becoming a Better Mentor will be helpful to anyone working with young people who want to learn how to take a strength-based approach to review the basics of childhood and adolescent development.
