Thank you, Ben & Jerry’s!

Safer Society Foundation is proud to announce that the New Circle Mentoring was awarded a $2,000 Vermont Community Action Team grant from the Ben & Jerry’s Foundation.

“The Vermont Community Action Teams (CATs) offer general support grants within the guidelines and funding provided by the Ben & Jerry’s Foundation. Every month, the CATs make small grants, generally under $2,000, to local, community-based Vermont non-profit organizations. As a response to the COVID-19 crisis, the Community Action Teams are focusing our funding priorities to address immediate community needs as they relate to this crisis; access to housing, food, health care, elder and child care, and focusing on the most vulnerable populations with the greatest need.”

This is the fourth CAT grant awarded to the program. New Circle Mentoring is very appreciative to the Ben & Jerry’s foundation for their continued support. The pandemic has created many challenges for youth programs, but New Circle Mentoring is committed to sustaining the program by maintaining its current mentoring matches while also preparing for new matches, once it can be done safely.

Children need support from mentors even more so during these trying times. Our program is very thankful for the recognition of the Ben & Jerry’s Foundation.
