Update from Erika, New Circle Mentoring Program Director

It was a nice autumn season for the New Circle Mentoring program! The mild weather allowed mentoring pairs to get together for outdoor activities, such as apple picking and hiking, the reopening of schools provided the structure needed to create new mentoring matches, and the program received good news of two grant awards (thank you, Mentor VT and Ben & Jerry’s!)

Now as we move into the holiday season, with shorter days and what seems will be tighter restrictions on social interactions, I can look back on the past couple months with gratitude for all that was accomplished.

The board of directors and staff of Safer Society are truly thankful for our mentors who have committed to preserving their mentoring relationships during these challenging times and to our new volunteers who were willing to take on a mentoring relationship despite the unknown. This impressive group of people, who are generous with their time and selves, live the spirit of the holiday season every day.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!
